As I have found to my continued annoyance, one of the most useful things a householder needs is a shed. I used to have one in the top corner of the garden. It needed a lot off sanding & wood staining but really it was the most wonderful storage article! I only agreed to have it emptied and removed when my newly acquired garden help suggested it was in the most inappropriate place – i.e. hugging the sunniest and warmest corner of this otherwise shady spot. He cheerfully offered to help offload it and somehow I was bamboozled into letting him take the shed, whilst I found homes for the 1001 items that had happily resided in it. Actually I did manage to pass on 3 spare garden forks, 2 spare spades, various hoes and rakes etc. When a very good chum of mine finally took pocession of her allotment after 6 years on the list, ther was quite some digging to be done. I was able to donate my spare implements to her sons & extended family. They were soooo pleased . . . . not!
