The garden holds great joy for many folk. The chance to get out there into the fresh air is still something to be looked forward to and more opportunities to do just that should be taken. After a year of lockdowns and pandemic strifes just getting out of the house is now factored in to my day – whatever the weather, rain or shine. In fact I have been known to walk down to my local supermarket in howling gales – but only as the purchase was essential. Taking time out in the garden is very restorative for wellbeing. It calms us down and allows the fast pace working irritations t just fade away. I have a small tub tucked away near the patio doors – in it are very basic but favourites gardening implements. Sturdy hand tools, cutters, small reels of wire & twine etc. hide away behind the curtains! This is ideal for me as I can easily pick a tool and wander round doing spot weeding and bramble control. When I’m on my daily round, I attend to the easy little jobs there and then to stop them becoming an unachievable mountain.
