Keeping Up With Feathered Friends

This is really one of the most wonderful times of the gardening year for me.  Not being a professional or trained in any way at all,  I just take great enjoyment in watching the progress of the green shoots appearing.  We’ve had a great deal of very old weather and a bit more snow than in recent winters so it’s been fun to be able to take stock of the recovering bulbs and shrubs.  The birds are great fun too – it takes them a little while to get the hang of finding out their favourite meals and snacks – I fill up the feeder and fat balls every morning and ensure they have water, but sometimes I have an extra little treat for them and it’s a great therapy to sit watching them peck at the odd little crumbs and peanuts scattered about by the bigger messy starlings and blackbirds.    I have been planning where to move a couple of trellis panels and now it matters that I don’t disturb any bird activity so a consultation with my garden help is necessary!
